  1. I think you know what I will say about DOMA, Jeffrey. The courts correctly ruled it unconstitutional, which I agree with. I can’t believe you would support such a discriminatory law. But maybe you do.

    • Arlen Grossman, that claim could not be more wrong. The bans on same-sex marriage have been ruled Unconstitutional by the U.S. Supreme Court. Unless new justices get appointed, I see no reason why the ruling should be overturned presently.

      • Okay, so we both agree that DOMA is unconstitutional and that ruling shouldn’t be overturned. Did I get that right?

        • Arlen Grossman, since marriage is defined as an interpersonal union only, legally defining it is absurd. DOMA would only have had credibility as a policy if it came from someone who had not cheated on one or more of that person’s marriages. A person who cheats on their marriages and yet advocates a defense of marriage is a hypocrite.

  2. There is no doubt in my mind, Jeffrey, that homosexuality is something you are born with. Would you agree?

    • Arlen Grossman, I do agree. What perplexes me is why people who are not gay even feel the need to talk about this issue.

      • I’m glad you feel that way, Jeffrey.

        • Arlen Grossman, if you don’t mind my asking, what are your thoughts regarding the claims that some people make that marriage has a religious connotation to it? If the ceremony was performed in a Church, such a claim may be valid. However, if not, then probably not.

          • Marriage is something most committed relationships value. I have no problem with both the government or the church using the term. I don’t see how a public gay marriage hurts
religious people. They don’t even have to recognize a gay marriage in their church if they choose to be so petty about it.

          • Arlen Grossman, I know that elements on both sides of the political aisle support same-sex marriage and you might have elements on both sides that oppose it. However, what are your views on DOMA as a policy? Keep it intact or get rid of it?

  3. Arlen Grossman, are you an atheist?

    • I am somewhere in the atheist/agnostic area. I don’t believe that you, I, or anybody else has any idea of who, what or where is god or even if there is one. How about you?

      • I am a Christian. My belief is that we should build each other up, not tear each other down. Having said that, unlike many conservative Christian types, I don’t use my religious convictions as license to impose my values on other people by force of law. An example is same-sex marriage. If God hated gay people, why would he keep creating them?

  4. This is a dishonest representation.
