Journalist Jeremy Scahill condemns the killing of 16-year–old Abdulrahman al-Awlaki, an American citizen assassinated in a C.I.A. drone strike in Yemen last year, as well as other targeted assassinations under President Obama. Scahill also points out the increased prosecutions of whistleblowers under the Espionage Act, increased warrantless spying, harassment of journalists, and the passive acceptance of these policies by Americans of both major political parties.
