Japan’s “China Syndrome” is “Beyond Containment”

“Very likely some of Fukushima’s melted cores have moved into the earth — It’s beyond containment right now.”
Paul Gunter director of the reactor oversight project at Beyond Nuclear: “Indications are right now that the reactor structures themselves have been breached.
“It’s very likely that some of the radioactive material — the melted cores — have moved into the earth.
“So it’s beyond containment right now.
“I think that’s the tragedy that we see unfolding as Fukushima’s radioactive water crisis is only beginning.”

  1. I appreciate that, Donaldson. Thank you.

You’ve returned from semi-retirement I see. You couldn’t have chosen a more important topic for your third and most recent post. (though Mr. Carter’s observation in your 2nd post is a VERY profound and insightful statement from a former President).
Many people seem to be (and in fact probably are) totally oblivious to the realities which surround them. ANY whistle blowers in positions to raise public consciousness AND have the courage to report what is known seem to have a way of either dying in freakish accidents or being prosecuted.
On a LARGER note, the well known Fukushima disaster has been down-played consistently over the last 2+ years and become a non event. I believe that our own Government has been and currently is actively involved and complicit in covering up the severity of this situation. (Not to mention its own involvement in neglecting to take necessary precautions against potential and recent brushes with nearly the same repercussions on our own soil). I offer as evidence Distinguished Nuclear Engineer Arnie Gundersen. “He has 40-years of nuclear power engineering experience. He attended Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) where he earned his Bachelor Degree cum laude while also becoming the recipient of a prestigious Atomic Energy Commission Fellowship for his Master Degree in nuclear engineering. Arnie holds a nuclear safety patent, was a licensed reactor operator, and is a former nuclear industry senior vice president. During his nuclear power industry career, Arnie also managed and coordinated projects at 70-nuclear power plants in the US”.
    Here, in his own words:

and back in 2011 (1 month AFTER Fukishama

BTW:” American and Canadian authorities have virtually stopped monitoring airborne radiation, and are not testing fish for radiation. (Indeed, the EPA reacted to Fukushima by raising “acceptable” radiation levels.)” Quoted from:http://www.gatheringspot.net/news-article/healinghealth/radiation-levels-california

    • Thanks for your feedback and additional information, Donaldson.

Welcome back Arlen, your posts are always interesting and thought provoking though my own input is somewhat erratic. Good to see one of the decent folk posting on issues upon which we should ALL be aware. Love your blog….one of only a handful I follow.
