   He never advocated using nuclear weapons against N. Vietnam. The fact that after all these years you are still repeating that ridiculous spin is evidence that facts are totally irrelevant to you. Goldwater advocated defoliating the demilitarized zone between North and South to expose the supply trails from the North, making them vulnerable to air attack. But you have obviously decided not to know this, so you continue with: “advocated using nuclear weapons against North Vietnam”. Talk about being blind and partisan. Nearly a half century later and you still REFUSE to know the facts.

   You can see how parlous our times are when someone I vilified as a warmonger, when he advocated using nuclear weapons against North Vietnam, is now held up as some sort of oracle for progressives. Unfortunately he is dead right about the loony Christian right, but still dead wrong about nuking Vietnam. We must choose our allies carefully these days. The old certainties are gone.
