I have a second conspiracy theory related to the report by our government regarding the death of Osama bin Laden.
The scenario: Bin Laden was alive and living in the compound in Pakistan. The U.S. military raid on May 1 went as planned and Navy Seals were able to kill or capture the al-Qaeda leader. The Seals took him (or his body) to their helicopter. Whether by detonation aboard, weaponry from the ground, or some other undetermined reason, the helicopter exploded, killed all aboard and destroyed any evidence of bin Laden’s death.
Knowing at least that bin Laden was dead, our government decided to put out their best story (which might explain the numerous conflicting reports in the aftermath of the raid). We were told Osama’s body was buried at sea quickly thereafter, with no photographic evidence. Everybody involved, President Obama, the CIA, the military, all end up looking good and bask in the glory of their triumph.
But what about the dead Navy Seals? How do you explain their deaths to the families? That’s where the supposed Helicopter crash on August 6 comes in. Helicopter Crash in Afghanistan Kills Members of SEAL Team 6 As in my first conspiracy theory, this crash, reportedly involving the same elite Navy Seal unit responsible for bin Laden’s death, accounts for a large number of Seals being killed, so neither the families nor anybody else needs to question their deaths.
(Update, August 29: Just to clarify, I do not believe our government killed the Navy Seals. However, I do believe it is possible our government may have made up or faked the August 6 helicopter crash to explain the possible deaths of the Navy Seals during the initial raid on the bin Laden compound.)
That is an alternate conspiracy theory. As before, I can’t prove any of it, but neither can the government prove their claims. You can decide which of my theories, or the government’s story, sounds the most plausible.
