Letter to the Editor, Monterey Herald, July 3, 2023

Anybody who’s name isn’t Donald Trump would get decades behind bars if convicted of all the present and future crimes the 45^th President is accused of. At least that would be true if “no man is above the law” were our standard. But a lot of people think he should get off with a slap on the wrist, and no jail time, because he is a “former president.” The last time I looked “former president” is not considered a king, a God, a dictator, or above the law. Let Trump face the appropriate penalties, like any other American citizen. If the crimes call for a prison sentence, then “lock him up!”
