You’re right. But make sure the quote is accurate. I’ve come across quotes attributed to Jefferson that turn out to be made up.
And that’s another reason why I should read him – so that I could tell if a qoute is his.
I think I definitely need to read Thomas Jefferson. I notice a lot of his quotes online, and he seems to me like a one-man Bible: whatever political opinion you may hold, you can always find a Thomas Jefferson quote to support it.
